Job Description

We are seeking an experienced purchasing lead, to handle our company's procurement activities. The purchasing lead responsibilities include developing purchasing strategies, maintaining positive relationships with suppliers, coordinating with internal teams regarding their supply needs, and overseeing the purchasing team in their daily activities.

To be successful as a purchasing lead you should be able to manage and optimize purchasing activities and processes. An outstanding purchase lead should have excellent team management abilities and be able to negotiate the best possible deals with suppliers.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing purchasing strategies.
  • Managing daily purchasing activities, supervising staff, and allocating tasks.
  • Managing supplier relations and negotiating contracts, prices, timelines, etc.
  • Maintaining the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation.
  • Coordinating with internal clients to determine and manage lead times and ensure timely import of required goods.
  • Ensuring and managing product warranties, after sales services and warranty claims.
  • Preparation of import related documents for onward submission to Finance department, submission of EIF on WeBOC, filing of GDs and managing other import related processes
  • Remain up to date with customs clearing rules, coordinate the clearing agents and ensure timely customs clearing and efficient freight management
  • Ensuring that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications.
  • Preparing cost estimates and managing budgets.
  • Working to improve purchasing systems and processes.
  • Training new employees in the purchasing process and how to use the purchasing system.

Skills: 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Decision making and problem solving.
  • Conflict management.
  • Detail and result oriented, persistent, confident, adaptable and positive attitude.

Qualification: 

Bachelors or Masters degree in Business Administration or a related field.

Knowledge: 

Deep knowledge of inventory and supply chain management.

Experience: 

5 to 7 years of experience in a reputed organization. Supervisory and management experience. Experience as a purchasing manager or in a similar position.
