POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT VICE CHANCELLOR
Government of the Punjab, Higher Education Department is seeking highly accomplished: qualified and motivated professionals for the position of Vice Chancellor in the following pub-lic sector Universities:
CATEGORY 1: GENERAL UNIVERSITIES
1 The University of Sahiwal
2 The University of Sargodha 3
The Emerson University, Multan.
CATEGORY 2: SPECIALIZED UNIVERSITY
Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Engineering and Technology, Multan
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
The Vice Chancellor shall be the principal executive and academic officer of the university would promote teaching, research and publications and ensure excellent administration and efficiency of the University. The applicant should:
• Not he more than sixty five (65) years of age on the last date fixed for the submission of applications.
• Have earned a PhD degree from an HEC recognized or UNESCO listed institution.
• Have experience in a senior academic, research or management leadership position.
• Possess a distinguished research and publications record. Details of requisite qualifications, experience and other relevant requirements (short-listing criteria) for the position of Vice Chancellor for each category of Universities are available at www.hed.punjab.gov.pk. Only short-listed eligible candidates will be interviewed by the Search Committee. TERM OF APPOINTMENT & SALARY:
• The Vice Chancellor shall be appointed for a term of four years and serve at the pleasure of the Chancellor.
• The incumbent will be entitled for a maximum of salary of a Professor on Tenure Track System as per approval of the Government.

• Certified copies of CV / educational certificates / degrees / diplomas
• Details of certified teaching and administrative experience in the form of Experience Certificate duly issued by the con-corned Registrar/ Admin Office/ HR Office. Notifications of postings shall not be accepted.
• List of HEC recognized research publications. Certified copies of first page and index of recognized journals.
• Detailed Curriculum Vitae clearly highlighting all elements of eligibility criteria & personal attributes. It should start with the title of the First Degree, Grades, the name of the Institute / College and the University.
• Three recent passport size photographs.
• If any candidate intends to apply for more than one position. He/ she is requested to indicate options, in order of priority, on the same application. The applications of the interested professionals on the pre-scribed preform, along with the supporting documents and Resume, should be addressed to the Secretary Higher Education Department/ Secretary of the Search Committee, Higher Education Department, Civil Secretariat, Lahore, and Punjab. Pakistan. Seven extra copies of filled in prescribed pro-forma only must also accompany the main application. Last date for the submission of applications is 11.10.2021. The application, complete in all respects and supported with all documents, must reach the Higher Education Department before the close of office hours on the last date of submission. Incomplete applications will not be entertained. All the applicants shall have to appear for interview in person. No interview will be allowed through video links i.e. Skype/ What Sapp etc, except for those candidates who are currently employed abroad.
