The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at LUMS invites applications for tenure track faculty; Assistant Professor/Associate Professor in its Politics program.

The Politics stream in the Mushtaq Ahmad Gurmani School of Humanities and Social Sciences (MGSHSS) at LUMS offers the BSc (Honours) Political Science degree and the BSc (Honours) Politics and Economics, the latter a joint major taught by faculty from both Political Science and Economics. Both programs encourage students to examine the globalizing world using a variety of conceptual lenses supplied by the social sciences, learn multiple ways of solving problems, and explore areas of inquiry that intersect traditional disciplines.

Qualifications

The candidates will have a specialization in any field of Politics/International Relations/Comparative Politics/Political Economy while specialization is open, preference will be given to scholars with the ability to teach quantitative methods.

The candidates should show a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching (three courses per year), and an active research and publishing agenda in the areas of Politics, International Relations, Political Economy or Comparative Politics. The geographical area of expertise is open, however, we will especially encourage candidates who have a teaching and research focus on South Asia to apply.
