Job Overview: As a Student Counselor at Roots IVY you will play a crucial role in providing guidance and support to students, helping them navigate personal and academic challenges. Your role will involve one-on-one counseling, group sessions, and educational workshops to promote student well-being and success.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct individual counseling sessions with students to address personal, academic, and emotional concerns.
Provide guidance on academic planning, course selection, and career development.
Assist students in setting and achieving personal and academic goals.
Organize and facilitate group counseling sessions and workshops on topics such as stress management, time management, and study skills.
Identify and respond to crisis situations and refer students to appropriate resources when necessary.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to support student success.
Maintain accurate and confidential student records.
Stay current on best practices in counseling and student support services.
Participate in staff meetings and professional development activities.
Contribute to the development and implementation of programs to enhance student well-being.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Empathetic and nonjudgmental attitude.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team.
Knowledge of student development theories and counseling techniques.
Familiarity with educational and career resources.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards.
