Job Summary
The University Librarian will oversee the daily operations of the library, ensuring the provision of high-quality services and resources to our academic community. This role involves managing collections, providing research assistance, and developing innovative programs that enhance the learning experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the acquisition, cataloging, and organization of library materials.
- Provide research and reference support to students, faculty, and staff.
- Develop and deliver instructional sessions on information literacy.
- Collaborate with faculty to support curriculum development and research initiatives.
- Supervise and train library staff and student assistants.
- Manage the library budget and allocate resources effectively.
- Implement and maintain digital resources and library technologies.
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all library users.
- Develop and execute strategic plans for library growth and improvement.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Library Science or equivalent from a HEC recognized University.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in an academic library setting.
- Strong knowledge of library management systems and digital resources.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in library services.
- Experience with information literacy instruction and curriculum development.
- Knowledge of emerging trends and technologies in library science.
- Proven track record of successful grant writing and fundraising.
Salary Package: 80,000 to 100,000 PKR per month.
